All Aboard, Orange County: Marriott’s Newport Coast Villas

marriottpools.jpg

Hi all…I recently came back from Orange County, California; lemme tell ya, if you’re looking for paradise, look no further! I’m going to do a series of blogs about my trip to this sunny state, offering my suggestions and opinions so that you can plan your summer accordingly. I’m going to discuss the Newport Coast Villas, Newport Beach, and Laguna Beach. Let’s start, shall we? Marriott’s Newport Coast Villas are located where else, but right in the heart of the Newport Coast (15-20 minutes from John Wayne Airport). This magnificent resort is also about a 15 minute walk or so from the rustic Crystal Cove Beach. Each villa includes but is not limited to your own personal washer and dryer, a private patio deck, living/dining room, and kitchen. Depending upon which room you opt for, there may be a master bedroom with a breath-taking bathroom factility (double shower, for you lovebirds out there), a second guest bedroom with a pull-out sofa-bed, and three cable television posts throughout the villa. Right behind the check-in pavillion (which includes internet access, a game room, high-end snacks and beverages), you will come across the 4 pools and 3 whirlpools. Each is unique in its own way, and you won’t even have to travel far for lunch or a mid-day snack; there is a bar and grill to the left of all of these mini spots which serve all your favourite items from quesadillas to french fries, and also seasonal fruity drinks to quench your innermost thirst! Throughout the duration of your stay here, you may want to pop in to use the fitness center which includes a his and hers sauna and steam room and full shower facilities (complitmentary high-end shampoo/conditioner, shaving cream/razors, ice cold wash-cloths, deodorant…you name it, they have it ready for you). If you get antsy during your stay, you can contact the friendly staff at the front desk to request a shuttle bus to the surrounding areas for a fun-filled day. Two of the sites that are constantly being traveled to and fro on a daily basis are Laguna Beach and Fashion Island. I suggest having single dollar bills handy at all times to tip the staff with…a little dollar goes a LONG way. Tipping the staff almost guarantees over-the-top service all trip long! That’s all for now, folks…please stay tuned for a blog about our next destination: Newport Beach.
